About the Department

The Computer Science and Engineering (Internet of Things and Cyber Security Including Blockchain Technology) undergraduate engineering course, which is affiliated to the University of Mumbai, has been started by the institute from the academic year 2022-23 with an intake capacity of 60 seats. This BE-CSE (Internet of Things and Cyber Security Including Blockchain Technology) undergraduate programme familiarises students with the functional and operational aspects of Internet of Things and Cyber Security Including Blockchain Technology.

Cyber Security is a specialized field in the realm of Information Technology (IT) which is regarded as a substream of Computer Science. The Cyber Security course aims to equip the students with knowledge and skills required to defend the computer operating systems, networks, and data from cyber-attacks. Internet of Things (IoT) is a pervasive technology that interrelates computing devices to enable transfer of data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. Various IoT applications focus on automating different tasks and are trying to empower the inanimate physical objects to act without any human intervention. Blockchain applications go far beyond cryptocurrency and bitcoin. The curriculum of this programme is designed in such a way that along with Cyber Security and IoT, the students are exposed to the Basic Cryptographic primitives used in Blockchain with an understanding and working knowledge of the emerging blockchain technology. During the tenure of this programme, students develop an understanding of the emerging abstract models for Cyber Security, IoT and Blockchain.
