Harshvardhan Chunawala, born in Mumbai, is a Visiting Professor at Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mumbai, with expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and AI. Harshvardhan is a Certified AWS Academy Educator and leads cloud computing lectures at XIE. Presently in the United States, he is a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) helping startups deploy scalable and secure architectures, economically. Previously, as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect at AWS, he designed and deployed secure cloud architectures for United States leading companies spanning across multiple industries like - Financial Services, Healthcare, Media, and Entertainment. He played a key role of Technical Lead in SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory’s TESS project for Grid Modernization using cloud computing in the United States, funded by the Department of Energy. In January 2024, Harshvardhan served as a Mission Operator in Carnegie Mellon University's Iris Lunar Rover mission, the first university rover to go to space aboard Peregrine Lander.

Harshvardhan, an alum of XIE (Class of 2020), holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology - Information Security from Information Networking Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and certification in Cyber Forensics Incident Response from The CERT Division of Software Engineering Institute at CMU. Actively engaged in philanthropy, Harshvardhan has made notable contributions to education and innovation for emerging technical leaders, including aiding technical educational initiatives at Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mumbai University, and CMU. He has authored research papers in cloud computing and information security and holds IoT design patents in India and the United Kingdom.
