Xavier Institute of Engineering had the chance to once again host its third TEDxXIE event in the voyage to give out the message of “IDEAs WORTH SPREADING”.
Maryann Fernandes, a final year student of the Institute was the Licensee and Organizer of TEDxXIE 2018. The event was backed by a team of highly motivated and dedicated members who know their job and are result oriented. It is because of their effort and determination, this event has been a complete success. And it did not happen overnight. The journey was definitely challenging but exciting beyond any doubt. The event curated 6 speakers from distinct backgrounds and fields to share out their ideas.
R Vimlala, IAS officer and CEO at Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission. She is a strong independent women who made visions come true for young rural women of Maharashtra by training them to be entrepreneurs with world -wide recognition. Her talk was based on, “My life before and after IAS”.
Samentha Fernandes, is a famous television actress and dancer of the TV show Dil Dosti Dance. She blew the audience away with her talk and idea on “Are you a professional butterfly?”
Shray Rai Tiwari, is an Actor, Model, National level Swimmer and In-House Director at Cafe Counsel. He is a firm believer of Mental Health. His talk highlighted “The Mental illness faced by actors in the film Industry”.
Wyomia Goveya, is a simple women with a beautiful voice. A professionally trained Music Therapist from Nordoff-Robbins, London. She uses her talent to bring joy, laughter and happiness in the lives of special kids in Mumbai. In her talk, she speaks on how Music Therapy can help us to communicate and how it can also be a medium of love.
Pratheek Sudahakaran is an architect, an educator and a lifelong learner. He is presently pursuing his Doctoral Research in Architecture for climate change. His talk “A School of Thought” was based on his journey towards becoming a teacher for a change and helping create milestones for his students.
Rishikesh Potdar, is an Engineer and a speed paper-cutting artist, who performed on India Got Talent (Season 5). His talk was based on the live performance of his mind-blowing talent. The credits for organizing such an awe-inspiring event go to all the 25 members
